There are several articles that are excerpts from my books. They have been added to give you some background information that you may want to share with your clients, or that will give you a different point of view on a topic.
The Julstro Method of Osteopathic Muscular Therapy (JMOMT) grew over 32 years of treating endurance athletes and clients who were in severe chronic pain.
I was helping others, but I kept having my own injuries:
- frozen shoulder that was totally locked and I couldn’t move my elbow even 2″ away from my body;
- whiplash;
- a knee injury where I severed the MCL and tore the ACL,
- a severe case of carpal tunnel syndrome
- low back pain that was so bad I couldn’t stand up straight
- and finally, I broke both bones of my ankle so my foot wasn’t attached to my leg!
During all of these times I knew what I’d do to help my clients, but I couldn’t find anyone who could do these techniques to me. I was desperate! That was the beginning of the self-treatment techniques.
Every technique I teach in my books “Treat Yourself to Pain-Free Living”and “The Pain-Free Athlete,” plus my instructional videos for carpal tunnel syndrome and safe stretching were all developed by me working on myself. I decided, if I can treat myself successfully, I can teach you how to successfully treat yourself. The techniques work!
This 2-hour program includes short descriptions of what you may be feeling, and then gives the videos of the JMOMT self-treatments that are used to relieve that problem.
