General Description
More than simply a series of isolated techniques, the Julstro Method of Osteopathic Muscular Therapy (JMOMT) is a complete program that teaches how to treat conditions that LMT’s & PT’s commonly see every day.
Julie Donnelly graduated from the Swedish Institute in New York City in 1989 and immediately began focusing her attention on the treatment of chronic pain. This expanded as Julie started treating endurance athletes who were determined to continue their sport, but who were unable to get pain relief from traditional therapies or medical procedures.
After laying the foundation, JMOMT was developed by Julie after she mentored under an osteopathic physician who also specialized in the treatment of chronic pain.
Julie’s own journey through some severe injuries became the course material as she explored which muscles needed to be treated to give her pain relief and then created the self-treatments that worked to stop the pain and give back her range-of-motion.
Disappointed by training programs that taught techniques, but didn’t teach when to use the new methods, Julie began to put together series of treatments for conditions, and she then started to teach them to other therapists who were also anxious to get complete methods, not just assorted techniques.
